No Rink This Season — But Plenty to Look Forward To!
The Edgemont Community League would like to share an important update about our annual outdoor rink. Due to ongoing construction in the new park area and around the future school site, we will not be installing the community rink for the 2025–2026 winter season.
While we know the rink has been a cherished part of winter life in Edgemont, this pause will allow us to ensure the space is safe and ready for future use once construction is complete. We’re grateful for your understanding and patience, and we’re already looking forward to skating together again soon! ⛸️
But winter in Edgemont is still full of opportunities to connect, learn, and celebrate together. We have two exciting community events coming up!
🚦 Edgemont Community Traffic Safety Townhall
📅 November 17 | 🕡 6:30–8:30 PM | 📍 River West Christian Church
Speeding, unsafe intersections, and pedestrian safety have become growing concerns across Edgemont, especially following this summer’s rise in traffic incidents.
This townhall is your chance to speak directly with the City of Edmonton and select community partners about safety issues in Edgemont. Come share your experiences, ask questions, and help shape safer streets for everyone.
🎄 Edgemont Frost Fest
📅 December 7 | 🕜 1:30–5:00 PM | 📍 Karen Leibovici Park
Celebrate the season with your neighbours at Edgemont Frost Fest! Join us for an afternoon of winter cheer, family fun, and holiday spirit.
Activities include:
🍫 Hot Chocolate Bar – Cozy up with cocoa and all the toppings.
🍪 Cookie Decorating – Get creative with festive treats.
🎅 Pictures with Santa – Capture a holiday memory.
❄️ Snow Heroes Challenge – Show off your shovelling skills.
🎶 Christmas Carollers (3–4 PM) – Enjoy classic carols.
🛷 Sleigh Rides (2–4 PM) – Experience the park in style.
💃 Zumba Session (4–5 PM) – Warm up with music and movement.
🏠 Gingerbread Decorating Contest – Win a sweet prize!
Bring your family, dress warm, and join us for an afternoon of festive fun!
Even without the rink this year, Edgemont remains a place where neighbours come together. We can’t wait to see you at these upcoming events and continue building a strong, connected community.
